Summary

This position of Cultivation Lead offers an opportunity to learn and grow with The Botanist and to take on increasing levels of responsibility. The Cultivation Technician is directly responsible for leading a team Cultivation Technicians through the execution of daily tasks which are vital to the ability to produce the highest quality medicine. Responsible for disseminating information, providing regular supervision, and status updates to the Cultivation Manager and supervisor. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Cultivation

  • Directly responsible for assisting Cultivation Manager (CM) in the workflow of Cultivation team
  • Ensure cultivation equipment is on hand and set up prior to the start of each shift
  • Oversee the completion of daily tasks and report status to CM
  • Coordinate with CM to ensure proper and timely order of fertilizers and other supplies
  • Responsible for monitoring daily temperatures, humidity levels, pH, and any other metrics identified by the CM
  • Overall responsibility for proper equipment maintenance/rotation
  • Ensures that all daily and weekly logs regarding nutrients, cloning, or repotting are completed and turned in to CM
  • Primary custodian of clone maintenance
  • Regularly inspects each plant to chart progress and identify problems early on
  • Implements daily feeding and care schedule as directed by CM
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment inside the cultivation area
  • Motivates team members
  • Responsible for data entry of daily maintenance/observation logs
  • Review the cultivation schedule and forecasts for key dates, quantities, strains, etc.
  • Participate in calendar layout/planning and analysis working closely with the cultivation scheduler
  • Assist with Operations Manual and SOP maintenance relating to cultivation
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in horticulture, botany, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of biology and chemistry related to plant growth and nutrition
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices 

Computers and Technology

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and office equipment
  • Knowledge of plant tracking software, both PATC-approved and state-mandated

Schedule

  • 40 hour work weeks: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with rotating Saturdays (subject to change as business needs)

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. Ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to a distance of 100ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.
