GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst (AA) holds primary
responsibility for the daily and weekly operational maintenance of the General
Ledger and accounting activities. In collaboration with the Disbursements
Coordinator, ensures the College's regular payment obligations are fulfilled,
including transmitting payment data to the College's banking institution and
BankMobile weekly, as well as maintaining vendor files in the ERP and
payment systems. The AA is responsible for monthly account reconciliations
and provides support to the financial and managerial reporting processes led
by the Controller.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain business office-related tables in the ERP/SIS system
• Post student accounts activity
• Support student success coaches as needed for student account issues
• Use report writer software to pull data from ERP system and to create
data files
• Prepare and transmit A/P Positive Pay files
• Perform assigned account reconciliations of:
o Federal grants revenue and expenditures
o Balance sheet accounts
o Transactions occurring outside the ERP/SIS
• Maintain approved vendor listing
• Work with the Advancement Office to ensure all donations and grants
are properly recorded
• Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Familiarity and competency with Microsoft Office suite
• Familiarity and competency with financial reporting and data tables
• Familiarity with the Jenzabar EX accounting system
• Must be a self-starter and problem solver with strong organizational
skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Must be extremely detail oriented and do highly accurate work
• Must possess a high level of professionalism and the ability to exercise
sound judgement and discretion
• Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals both inside
and outside the college and to deliver a high level of customer service
• Must be able to effectively administer the college's policies and
procedures and to make suggestions for improvement
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Must have 3 or more years of related work experience with a track
record of increased responsibilities
• Possession of an Associates or higher degree in accounting or business
Preferred:
• Experience in grants accounting
• Work experience in a higher education setting
