Critical Environments (Data Center) Technician
The Critical Environments Technician will perform a variety of basic duties within the building’s critical infrastructure and spaces. This position receives and responds to abnormal environmental conditions as determined by regular rounds, building management systems, and other equipment monitoring devices. The successful candidate must be able to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
Duties
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- A general understanding of the operations and locations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Respond to alarms and mitigate emergencies, problems, and abnormal conditions within the critical environment spaces.
- Participate in safety training classes and practice safe work methods.
- May perform light duty maintenance and repairs of building systems and equipment.
- Perform operational rounds and conduct visual inspections and reporting.
- Assist with monitoring contracted service vendors and work performed on or within the critical infrastructure.
Qualifications
Knowledge of commercial or industrial building systems and critical infrastructure; technical school / military training helpful.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint helpful. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
The Critical Environments Technician will be exposed to a wide variety of information and must be able to discern the appropriate manner in which such information must be handled and protect the integrity of such information at all times.
