Adjunct Instructor - Real Estate R0133030

The responsibilities of this position include:
  • Teach real estate courses within the Business Administration Department.
  • Courses taught by adjunct Instructors may include but are not limited to Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Law, Real Estate Brokerage, Real Estate Property Management, and Real Estate Contracts, Transactions, and Agency, Real Estate Post-Licensing Module, and Real Estate Salesperson Pre-Licensing Exam Preparation.
  • Provide an excellent teaching experience to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies.
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities with an emphasis in real estate.
  • Courses assigned may be taught at any of the CSN Campuses with the possibility of day, evening and/or weekend classes.


Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other closely related field from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)
  • Must possess an active real estate broker's license from the State of Nevada Real Estate Division (NRED) or possess a real estate broker's license from a state approved for a reciprocal Nevada broker's license.
  • Two years of full-time real estate experience as determined and documented by the state of Nevada Real Estate Division (NRED) or other governing regulatory body in the field in which the instructor will be providing instructions
  • Teaching experience of at least 75 hours in the field in which he or she will be providing instruction within the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the person's application for approval (NRED) plus at least 3 years of full-time experience in that field
  • Must have at least 6 years of full-time experience (as determined by NRED) in the field in which the person will be providing instruction; or any combination of at least 6 years of college-level course work and full-time experience in the field in which the person will be providing instruction.
  • The applicant must have a good reputation for honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • The applicant must submit satisfactory documentation of his or her qualifications as well as a resume outlining his or her experience, education, and teaching experience in the field in which the person will be providing instruction.


Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Business from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) With 6 years' work experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years teaching at the college level or at a private real estate education provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate and utilize a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Traditional, online, or hybrid instructional platform experience.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with a diverse student population as found at CSN.


Starting Salary Range

Adjunct instructors receive $925 per credit hour.
