Director of Internships for the School of CommunicationsELON UNIVERSITY
Elon University is currently accepting applications for a Director of Internships for the School of Communications. As a staff person with faculty rank, the Director of Internships for the School of Communications coordinates the required professional internship program. As the instructor of record for the internship course, the director works with students about 300 students a year to identify internship opportunities appropriate for their major, administers the academic requirements of the course, awards final grades, interacts closely with companies and organizations, and visits selected internship sites. The director also will plan and implement periodic on-campus engagement events, visit and interact with graduates of the program during site visits and as travel opportunities permit, and informally solicit feedback on internship and job development.
A Master's degree in communications or related field and professional media/communications experience is required. Prior experience working with student interns preferred. Position will remain open until filled.
