Lecturer in Accounting



Location: Elon University Campus, North Carolina, 27244

The Department of Accounting in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business invites applications for one lecturer-track faculty position in accounting to begin in August 2024. The specialization of immediate need is in taxation. However, teaching may also include courses in accounting principles, cost- or managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, and Elon's Core Curriculum.

Required Qualifications:
  1. an earned master's degree in accounting from an AACSB-accredited university,
  2. one year of professional accounting experience in practicing tax, OR 3-year teaching accounting courses at an AACSB-accredited institution; the accounting courses must include taxation,
  3. a Certified Public Accountant license,
  4. proficiency in tax preparation software such as TurboTax,
  5. track record in curriculum development and university service,
  6. experience with both in-person and online teaching modalities,

In addition to teaching, candidates must be willing to provide service to the department, business school, university, and accounting profession.

Anticipated Start Date: August 2024. Final candidates will be invited to campus to demonstrate effective teaching.
