Director of Human Resources

Ferrum College is seeking its next Director of Human Resources. This position reports directly to the President of the College and has overall responsibility for all HR functions. The Director of Human Resources collaborates with administration to develop, implement, and achieve the strategic goals of the college as they relate to its employees. The Director will help shape a new vision for human resources in a time when societal expectations about work are changing.

Specific responsibilities include employee budgeting, recruiting, on-boarding/off-boarding, performance evaluations; compensation and benefits administration, including serving as the college's representative in benefits and other consortia; development, implementation and administration of HR policies, programs, and procedures; record-keeping; administration of leave plans, Workers Compensation, FMLA; training and workforce development; HRIS and CMS management; compliance with all employment-related and other federal and state laws and regulations, including serving as Title IX Deputy and as ADA/Section 504 Coordinator for the campus; and administration of the institution's student employment program.

Successful candidates will possess a BA/BS in HR or related field and 5+ years HR experience at progressively higher levels of responsibility with at least 3 years of management experience. PHR required; SPHR preferred. Legal/compliance experience helpful.
