Pharmacy Operations Manager
FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a manager for inpatient pharmacy operations at its flagship, Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The hybrid position is 40% administrative and 60% clinical/operations. The successful applicant will have a passion for pharmacy operations which includes improving patient care, scheduling oversight, quarterbacking pharmacy workflow, and basic troubleshooting for pharmacy automation systems. The position oversees pharmacy supervisors, clinical pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians.

Qualified applicants will be graduates of an accredited school of pharmacy and licensed in the state of North Carolina with at least three years of hospital pharmacy experience (or equivalent with residency training), and previous supervisory experience.

Effectively coordinates and conducts interviews for prospective pharmacy team members. Works effectively with human resources to hire pharmacy department employees. Successfully onboards new employees working closely with the Pharmacy Technician Trainer in developing training plans for new technicians. Effectively defines or redefines departmental staffing models to improve employee engagement. Manage employee turnover to corporate standards. Review for accuracy and approve departmental invoices. Works closely with Associate Director to ensure accurate controlled substance reconciliation and inventory maintenance. Works closely with Associate Director to meet controlled substance permit and reporting compliance with state and federal law. Manages automated distribution cabinet system for medications as system administrator. Effectively navigates controlled substance surveillance application, RxAuditor, and assists in interpreting results for nursing managers. Works with associate, clinical and administrative director to develop operational budget. Assists in coordination of annual physical inventory. Assists pharmacy administration in improving quality to meet CMS, DNV, North Carolina Board of Pharmacy, and NCDHHS requirements. Understands and reports monthly pharmacy quality metrics and can access data as needed.
Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy and currently licensed by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Three years of hospital pharmacy experience is required. One year of previous managerial/supervisory experience required. A proficiency in comprehensive computer software is required.
