The Department of Counseling, Recreation and School Psychology (CRSP) at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in Sport and Recreation Management, to commence in the Fall semester of 2024. The Sport and Recreation Management Program is a vibrant and growing program with a healthy number of applicants and strong enrollment. It is situated within the Department of Counseling, Recreation, and School Psychology in the School of Education and Human Development at the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE). Responsibilities

The appointed faculty member will have an assignment in the areas of instruction (90%) and service (10%).

The instruction assignment during the first year will be a 4/4/3 teaching load (11 courses in the academic year) and involve the delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses for the Sport and Recreation Management program, in in-person and online modalities. The appointee will also be expected to participate in student mentorship activities.

Beyond instruction, the position encompasses service contributions to support the department's mission. These may include assisting with the accreditation process of the sport management program, actively participating in curriculum meetings, and representing the department's standards and goals. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain active involvement with industry and relevant professional associations to enhance our students educational experiences and raise the profile of the program in the professional community.

Qualifications
- Minimum requirements include an earned Master's degree in Sport Management or a closely related field. A Doctorate in Sport Management or a closely related field is preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates showing evidence of excellence in teaching, industry and leadership experience, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A successful candidate will have experience with and demonstrated effectiveness in instruction in a variety of modalities, including in-person and fully online courses at an institution of higher education.
