SPECIFIC DUTIES/

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Primary handling of newspaper products: piling, jogging, counting, moving skids, stretch wrap and band. Inserting: jogging inserts, feeding heads and loaders, minor repair of jams, hand insert whole products. Mail and distribution: inserting, dissecting, tagging lists, tear sheets, etc. Note: Trainee to be familiar with, but not assigned to mailroom operator or computer position. Reports to unit supervisor.

PHYSICAL

REQUIREMENTS: Full range mobility, repetitive handling, standing, walking, bending, twisting, crouching, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling occasionally (50 lbs.), seeing, color vision, depth perception, ability to communicate, lifting and carrying frequently (30 lbs.).

SPECIFIC SKILLS

REQUIRED: Taking papers from presses, taking papers or bundles from conveyors, and/or newspaper stacking, and/or stacking devices; placing of newspapers or newspaper supplements on push trucks, skids, or lift trucks; conveying of newspapers, newspaper supplements or newspaper inserts addressing by hand machine or power machine, inserting by hand or power machine, tying, sacking, dissecting, collating, counting, jogging, pasting, wrapping or marking of papers or wrappers, or any other process being utilized in the mailroom. Ability to operate all mailroom mechanical equipment associated with the delivery of products. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
