The Las Cruces Sun-Newslcsun-news.com, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is looking for someone who’s comfortable putting in a request for public records in the morning and then knowing what's going to capture readers' attention in the afternoon's city council meeting.
This versatile candidate should be able to live-tweet a county commission meeting, quickly organize complex government topics into a reader-friendly narrative and then take a deeper dive into that topic for a Sunday enterprise story.
Pairing watchdog journalism with our other award-winning coverage extends across multiple platforms — print, online and social media. We value your storytelling ability — whether it's in a tweet or a 1,500-word Sunday centerpiece.
This digital journalist should expect to use all of the visual and interactive storytelling tools available at the Sun-News. Applicants must have at least two years of daily newspaper experience. Spanish fluency is a plus.
