Job Summary

The part-time Heritage Center Research Access Technician/Clerical Assistant 2 provides receptionist, clerical services, and assistance for public access to the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center research library collections, including but not limited to overseeing sign-in procedures and research forms for visitors from the public; receiving incoming calls, correspondence, and research request forms for HC Library; Receiving, cataloguing, and shelving of materials in general reference collection under supervision of the director, and provides answers to general questions from visitors or directs callers to the appropriate personnel or office.

The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 10:00 am -2:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications
  • Outstanding customer service experience
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication
  • Experience with providing access to research library and archival collections
  • Knowledge of organizational methods/skills regarding filing systems keeping ledgers, forms, business letters/writing.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and maintain an efficient and professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and appreciation for PA German folklife, culture, and history
  • Experience conducting and facilitating research
  • Knowledge of higher education procedures and policies
  • Experience diverse workplace environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe suite, and library or museum catalogue software
