Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Elementary, Middle-Level, Library and Technologies Education at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position beginning in Fall 2024, specializing in K-12 instructional and learning technologies. The department is seeking an innovator ready to bring our instructional and learning technology programs to the national leading edge. Individual courses will vary in terms of delivery (face-to-face and online). Faculty members are also expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate internships and student teaching/clinical experiences; the teaching load is four courses per semester. Additionally, the faculty member will advise students and coordinate the M.Ed. in Instructional Technology program. Preference will be given to candidates who show demonstrated experience in teaching diverse populations. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service.

Required: an earned doctorate in education focusing on instructional and learning technologies, or a related discipline by the start of Fall 2024 classes; or ABD with terminal degree completed by Dec. 31, 2025 and experience working in K-12 school settings. Preferred: ISTE certification and demonstrated participation in ISTE and/or regional educational technology professional organizations; an ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent and/or experience in K-12 school library settings; five years of experience working with or teaching in K-12 schools and the ability to collaborate with K-12 schools and other community partners; an established record of research, scholarly publications, and presentations in the instructional and learning technologies field; teaching experience at the graduate level; experience in designing and teaching face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses; experience and training in instructional design, educational AI applications, information/media literacy, multimedia development, and using technology in support of culturally sustaining and equitable teaching practices.
