Job Description
IT GENERALIST, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL)-Infrastructure Group (TIG), to provide direct technical computing support and exceptional customer service for faculty, staff, postdocs, and students in a community of approximately 1300 persons. Will work under the supervision of the TIG help desk manager and be part of a team supporting hardware, software, peripherals, and mobile technology. This will include diagnosing various operating systems and application issues as well as hardware-related problems.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ experience in technical support, preferably in higher education; experience supporting Apple hardware; proficiency with MacOS and Windows Operating systems, and major business applications (not limited to Zoom, Slack, MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox, and Sophos video conferencing hardware and software); understanding of management and deployment software using JAMF; familiarity with working in a shell, Git repositories, and SSH; understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols; demonstrated knowledge of HTML and Markdown; ability to work both independently to resolve client issues as well as within a small team; willingness and ability to pitch in wherever needed while still accomplishing primary goals; and ability to lift objects of 20 lbs.
