Bachelor's degree; NC Real Estate License plus one or more years real estate brokerage experience. $48,950 - $58,742 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Tasks
Assists Regulatory Affairs staff in responding to complaints from the public relating to real estate brokerage; reviews complaint information received and determines need and sources for additional data; gathers data from licensees, sellers, buyers, witnesses, court records, etc. through written and telephone inquiries; analyzes documentary evidence in order to determine the facts concerning complaints.
Determines whether facts of case are sufficient to support a violation.
Summarizes case facts and recommends case disposition to the Attorney/Case Manager, whether to close the file or pursue a potential violation; conducts additional research and data gathering as directed.
Responds to telephone inquires and requests from the public for information concerning the Real Estate License Law, Commission rules and real estate brokerage practices; asks questions to determine the actual issue or question in order to respond with an accurate answer; analyzes and responds to electronic and written inquiries from consumers and licensees relating to real estate brokerage practices and laws.
Speaks to industry groups and the public about the Real Estate License Law, Commission rules and real estate brokerage practices.
Assists in drafting proposed rules governing the real estate brokerage industry.
Maintains required knowledge of Real Estate License Law, Commission rules and policy changes, and department protocols and case precedents.
Drafts articles for publication in the Commission Bulletin or on its website on topics relevant to brokerage practices.
Additional Job Duties
May perform studies and research as directed by the Executive Director and Regulatory
Affairs Staff on legal and administrative issues surrounding real estate brokerage practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
