Job Description
The position provides executive level administrative support to the Vice President for Research. Specific duties include researching and developing logistical details of meetings, events, and visits by officials; composes and drafts correspondences by researching specific situations and gathering background information; and manages daily office routine by prioritizing and expediting daily workflow; This position has significant responsibility to ensure critical, confidential, and time-sensitive matters are handled appropriately and expeditiously, as well as, includes extensive interaction with various internal and external academic and nonacademic constituents.

Comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures. Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of effective problem resolution techniques.

Sound judgment, effective customer service and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain full confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Demonstrated ability to record, organize and analyze data. Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, schedules, and travel arrangements. Ability to interact in a positive manner with a diverse group of constituents and customers.

Comprehensive experience in an executive administrative assistant role for Executive/Senior level leadership or support organizational role. Comprehensive experience in planning and scheduling, preparing reports, compiling correspondence. Basic budget management experience.

Comprehensive experience in higher education, corporate, or governmental executive administrative positions. Some knowledge of university policies and procedures. Basic experience with financial accounting software.
