Salisbury University’s Seidel School of Education invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track position for an Assistant / Associate Professor in the Department of Early and Elementary Education (DEEE).

Primary Job Duties:

The DEEE seeks a qualified assistant/associate professor with a background in the teaching of creative arts in PreK-6. This collaborative professional will be skilled at teaching undergraduate students an interdisciplinary approach to the arts for PreK-6 students through music, dance, theatre, and the visual arts. Our prospective colleague will demonstrate positive interpersonal competencies essential to successfully working with students, faculty, staff, and external constituents. The normal teaching load is three, 4-credit courses per semester, with the expectation to advise teacher candidates.

The candidate is expected to engage in high quality inclusive teaching; collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction, and evaluation; maintain an active research agenda resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentations; and participate in service at a variety of levels, including the university, school, and department. Participation in clinical supervision, collaborative programs, and international coursework are available.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have a terminal degree in Creative Arts education or a related field. (ABD may be considered.) A minimum of three years of successful teaching in grades PreK-8 is required. Our new colleague will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include teaching at the college level; supervising clinical internships; engaging in school-university partnerships; and seeking and writing grants.
