We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Director of MedSurg/ICU for a great opportunity at Sampson Regional Medical Center (SampsonRMC). The ideal candidate will possess 5 years of acute care experience with at least 3 years of leadership experience and a BSN.
Sampson Regional Medical Center
Sampson Regional Medical Center (SampsonRMC) has served its community since 1950 and is now one of only a handful of independent, community-based hospitals remaining in North Carolina. The healthcare facility serves as an academic training center for medical students, interns, and residents. The selected candidate will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and will manage the daily operations of the Medical Surgical department and ICU department. The selected candidate will lead patient satisfaction initiatives, manage performance improvement initiatives, manage the department budget, facilitate department meetings, develop staff competencies, and participate in leadership meetings.
Responsibilities of MedSurg/ICU
Management of Department Personnel
- Provides effective leadership and supervisory support to staff
- Selects qualified and competent employees
- Ensures that all employees are provided with appropriate orientation and in-services
- Projects and coordinates sufficient staffing to meet patient care needs
Fiscal Management
- Anticipates department needs relative to finances, space, and resources
- Manages personnel resources and adjusts to changing work-load, staff absence, and other needs
within the parameters of staffing targets - Responsible for appropriate equipment purchase
Patient Care and Advocacy
- Facilitates the staff in solving problems and addressing patient care issues/problem
- Participates in appropriate hospital committees and task forces specific to department services
- Continually seeks, analyzes, and enhances patient care and services to meet and exceed the needs
and expectations of the patient.
Requirements:
- Requires a BSN degree
- Licensed by the NC Board of Nursing
- Five (5) years of acute care experience and at least three (3) years of leadership experience
- A Master's Degree is preferred.
- Sound Fiscal Management skills are a plus
