Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College has an anticipated position: Grant Development Specialist that would be responsible for assisting the Institutional Advancement department achieve its fundraising goals through procuring grants for the success of the college. The person chosen for this position would be able to work from any of our five campuses: Cumberland, Harlan, Middlesboro, Pineville, and Whitesburg.
The Grant Development Specialist is part of the Institutional Advancement department and is responsible for procuring grants for the success of the College. The Grant Development Specialist will work closely with members of the Institutional Advancement department, the Southeast Education Foundation, and various committees to strategically fund SKCTC projects and goals. This position will be responsible for developing and submitting grant proposals, in addition to managing funded grant projects. The person chosen will have the opportunity to pursue professional development and certification in grant writing.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research external funding possibilities for strategic priorities.
- Lead committees of colleagues and partners to develop grant projects and proposals
- Write grant proposals in response to funding opportunities.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of the College’s history, mission, and programs.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders and serve as liaison between college and funder.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and funder regulations.
- Provide grant administration, management, and technical assistance including budgeting.
- Manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outcomes.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the System Office staff, college staff, and faculty involved in writing grant proposals, and contacts with entities with which KCTCS has sponsored projects, contracts, and subcontracts.
- Provide individual and college-wide training sessions and assistance on how to organize and write a grant proposal and how to manage a funded project
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in higher education or related field.
Experience with program assessment and evaluation.
4 years’ experience with grant writing and management preferred.
Preference to those with project management certification
