Job Summary
Reporting to the Divisional Dean, the Assistant Divisional Dean will provide academic leadership for the campus and the Academic Affairs team. The position will provide leadership for creative, innovative, and successful strategies to ensure student success in all teaching modalities. Coordinates course/curriculum development and revision within the framework of TCC. The position provides leadership for a large number of full-time and adjunct faculty. In addition, they will foster collaboration across disciplines to promote faculty partnerships and deep learning through effective pedagogical practice, accelerated programs, competency-based education, and other proven pedagogical strategies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Assists with the development and the revision of curricula
- Recommends campus course offerings and teaching assignments for each term
- Promotes effective integration and use of technology in all aspects of teaching and learning
- Assists Dean with evaluation of faculty performance
- Interfaces with Dean, faculty, and staff to develop and execute enrollment management strategies to affect recruitment, retention and student success; provides guidance to department chairs in matters of teaching and learning
- Represents the District and/or the campus at community or college meetings or events and participates in faculty and committee activities
- Uses analytics and assessment to ensure operational effectiveness and student success
- Participates in professional development activities
- Recruits, interviews, and recommends the appointment of highly qualified faculty and staff
- Aids and promotes professional development among faculty and staff in duties such as teaching classes, conducting orientation programs, and scheduling events
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
- Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
Works under the general supervision of the Divisional Dean

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree with a major in one of the instructional areas within the academic division OR graduate coursework sufficient to teach within the division
- Three (3) years of administrative experience in an educational setting, preferably community college
- Three (3) years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level
- Experience in a comprehensive community college setting
- Knowledge of effective instructional and learning assessment methods
- Outstanding public speaking ability
- Knowledge of planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
- Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently and take initiative

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
