Job Purpose
Perform and provide oversight to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal awards (2 CFR 200), State, University, and other funding agency regulations.

Essential Functions
Responsible for negotiating research contracts (Federal and Industry) and sub-awards. Specifically: Reviews award terms and conditions for acceptability and negotiates terms with sponsoring agency. Responsible for confirming award documents are compliant with the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit requirements for federal awards, state, university, and other funding agency guidelines. Assists faculty, staff and external constituents with compliance issues related to federal and industry contracts. Reviews and processes sub-awards for potential compliance issues with federal and other applicable regulations. Process documentation from subrecipients, approve requisitions of sub-awards and contracts. Summarizes and prepares reports for internal and external constituents, including FFATA. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with two years of related experience OR a JD. Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively. Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, and interact regularly with other departments, faculty, and other outside agencies. Ability to manage workload and meet challenging deadlines with little guidance. Competence using office productivity applications, such as Microsoft Office tools and Adobe. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited institution. Five years of experience in contract and grant management and compliance. An understanding of higher education organizations. An understanding of federal, state, and university regulations. Ability to explain award terms and conditions to both legal and non-legal individuals.

Work Hours: Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Administrative Pay Grade AD45.
