Postdoctoral Associate in the School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Pittsburgh

Dr. LiRong Wang’s group from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is looking for a postdoctoral associate to work on computational systems pharmacology/analysis of electronic medical records for outcomes research. The Postdoctoral associate will conduct applied bioinformatics research on genomics and/or on the characterization of models of human disease, depending on research interests, develop manuscripts; Develop computational tools for research questions, with statistical testing procedures and graphical displays; Analyze data and results for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in journals and keep detailed records of analytical experiments.

Successful candidates will have experience in computational modeling of biological systems, large-scale data, high-throughput drug and genetic screens, and common bioinformatic resources. Must be proficient with Linux and multiple bioinformatic languages, such as Python, R, MATLAB, and Perl. The candidate must also possess excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

The candidate is expected to be a highly motivated scientist who has recently earned a PhD degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, electrical/biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field. Interested candidates should apply at www.join.pitt.edu, requisition number 23007317.
