THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Project Coordinator 2 plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure the successful implementation of research projects in the Department of Preventive Medicine and the Center for Innovation in Health Equity Research. This position oversees the implementation of a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) designed to increase physical activity in African American cancer survivors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversees the implementation of a randomized trial and data collection.

2. Develops, implements, and monitors participant recruitment plan.

3. Ensures the timely and accurate entry of all required research data.

4. Maintains detailed records of implementation of study activities according to timeline and problem-solves when needed to overcome delays in scheduled activities.

5. Produces reports, research summaries, and appropriate contributions to patient-directed materials, scientific meetings abstracts, academic publications, lay publications, and grant submissions, as directed by research and program leadership.

6. Develops a manual of operations for research studies and implements research protocols according to the manual of operations and IRB approved protocols.

7. Plans, executes and creates/maintains records and minutes of all meetings and/or video/teleconferences.

8. Assists principal investigators in evaluating and designating resources to accomplish project tasks.

9. Monitors progress toward milestones and implements a corrective Action Plan if milestones are not met.

10. Establishes and coordinates a multistate cancer survivorship advisory panel.

11. Schedules weekly team meetings and meetings for co-investigators, partners, and stakeholders.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field. (Master’s Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of program management experience for clinical research; OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Ability to work independently and work with a study team.

· Highly developed organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.

· Must possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.

· Comfort and skills as it relates to working with team members at institutions across the country

· Comfort with quantitative/qualitative data collection, scientific writing community-based health research, and public presentation.

· Fluency with research management and regulatory issues; strong personal drive and work ethic aimed towards personal and professional enrichment.

· Strong desire to learn and expand skills will be key to success in this position.
