• Restaurant Managers
You'll learn by doing
As a Waffle House manager, you'll learn the job by doing the job. With this in mind, you will complete a 9-12 week hands-on, in-store training program. Paired with a Training Unit Manager, you will work their schedule, learning skills in four areas:
1. Service and Production
2. The Waffle House Brand of Leadership and Management
3. Food Safety
4. Case Studies on Restaurant Situations
You'll also attend a monthly Trainee Day with senior managers to learn more about Waffle House operations.
After initial training you will attend Waffle House University at the corporate office in Norcross, Georgia. "WHU" (pronounced "Wooh") is three days of classroom instruction with senior operations management and corporate staff.
After WHU, you will usually work in different restaurants before being assigned your own.
What we preach and practice everyday!
• Customer Service. Our goal is "Every Customer Leaves Happy." Our managers create an environment where their team puts the customer first.
• Homegrown Management. Waffle House company restaurants promote from within. This means everyone in Waffle House restaurant management started as a single-restaurant manager.
• Leading from the Front. Managers are in the restaurants every day working side-by-side with their associates to serve our customers – not in an office. Waffle House has systems in place to aid all management to be successful leaders.
• Ownership. As a privately-held company, Waffle House, Inc. offers a stock program that allows management and hourly associates to own shares of the company.
• Solid & Strong. Waffle House, Inc., has a 57-plus-year history of success. We continue to open new restaurants and have an aggressive growth strategy in place for the next 10 years. This means there is much opportunity for our managers to grow with the company.
