Job Description Summary

One-Year Appointment 2024-25

Wake Forest University's Department of French Studies invites applications for a one-year, benefits-eligible, non-renewable position at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor of French Studies, beginning in July 2024. The area of specialization is open. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester in the French lower-division curriculum, which includes elementary and intermediate courses in language, and courses in culture and literature at the intermediate level. Ph.D. in hand is preferred by the start of the appointment, but advanced ABD candidates will also be considered. Native or near-native fluency in French is required.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have prior experience as a primary classroom instructor and will be able to provide evidence of teaching excellence. Aside from teaching duties, the candidate will be invited to participate actively in the life of the department, including co-curricular activities with students.
